Prayer
How would you live life differently if you knew God was with you and for you?
He is! But in the press of life, it is easy for our minds to be distracted and the stress or heaviness of our hearts to cloud the goodness of God’s presence with us, making our walks through the difficult times of life more painful, confusing and difficult.
Prayer is vital to living life as friends with God and friends with others. We want to encourage you to make it a point to learn to focus on the goal of Christian prayer—to practice paying attention to the presence of God. The Bible teaches us to pray alone, pray with others and pray for others so we can individually and together live in the friendship of God.
We encourage growth in prayer at Quest in several ways.
- Through our Sunday services we encourage praying with friends or having prayer leaders in the church pray with you after services.
- We have regular group prayer times (see the calendar or Sunday program for times).
- Our small groups pray together and for one another.
- Small groups or other classes periodically study books on prayer and practice what they are learning.
- We read the Bible with the expectation of hearing God—therefore we encourage journaling those things we think God may be saying to us utilizing a simple SOAP journaling process (click here to learn more about SOAP).
God is with you. God is good. He wants to speak into your life bringing freedom and blessing. He wants to speak to you for other people, so you can communicate His goodness and blessing to them. Ultimately, prayer is expecting God to be present with you, to communicate with you, to lead you and work through you to bring His goodness to others.
How will you live life differently in response to the challenges you are facing, knowing God is good, He is with you, for you and working through you?
