Quest Community Church

The purpose of Missions at Quest Community Church is, through the obedience to Christ’s commission, to encourage, support, and send witnesses into our community, nation, and world, making and equipping disciples of Jesus Christ and planting and growing local churches. Some of how we do this is through:

• Organizing short-term mission trips
• Reviewing and recommending ministries and missionaries for our church to partner with and support
• Communicating the need for missions and outreach in our community, nation, and world through teachings, informational brochures, prayer updates, and special events

 

The Great Commission of Jesus Christ to the Church:

 

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

God’s desire to bring blessing among all nations is not a small, add-on idea that pops up in the New Testament. God makes this promise to Abraham and his descendents (Genesis 12:1-3, 18:18, 26:4, 28:14):

 

Genesis 12:1-3

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

This is an essential part of God’s plan for the world and eternity:

 

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Revelation 5:9-10

And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

Revelation 7:9

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
